Happy Belated Birthday Jesus!

Well, like I said before, Ross and I were heading to Mexico for our delayed honeymoon over Christmas time.  We had lots of relaxation time - we ate, we laid on the beach, read, ate, relaxed some more, and ate again.

Our family was kind enough to wait on the family Christmas until we arrived home.  It was great being on a beach on Christmas, but there is nothing like being surrounded by family to make it truly feel like the real deal.  We were bummed that not all our family could be there - but it was great to be with my parents, Jessie, BJ, Canaan, and Eric (oh, and Oliver!)  We waited to do Christmas until the 28th in the morning - I do have to say, that it adds a new spark to Christmas to have a little one around again.
My parents were FAR FAR more that generous this Christmas - but one of the favorite things they got for Ross and I, was a 50mm lens for my camera (I know.... how fun, right?)  But I was not expecting it at all, and I was able to take some great pictures with the family around.  The lens is great for taking pictures of people - it focuses on the close up image, and blurs the background.  Great for outstanding portraits!  I loved having little Canaan (and the rest of the family) as models!

Merry Belated Christmas, everyone!  Ross and I are heading to Fort Wayne in the morning, to spend time with his family over New Years.  Loving this family time!!

Dare I say... we've been busy?

This Fall has been FULL of lots of events, lots of memories, lots of challenges, and lots of fun.  So, it's safe to say, the reason we haven't updated, is because, well.... WE'VE BEEN BUSY!  So, here is the rundown on the latter part of our year.

September:  I spent the month of September doing pre-wedding celebrations for my Cousin (basically sister) Jeny.  I felt as though I was given amazing blessings during my pre-wedding festivities that I wanted to make things for Jen just as meaningful.  It was wonderful being able to see family members and friends, as I spent time up in Lansing and St. Joe with everyone.  I am so blesssed to have Jeny in my life, and I was so incredibly blessed to share the events leading up to the big day with her.

Some snapshots from Jen's Bridal Shower.....

( cake made my Jen's Dad, Geno!  Phenomenal, huh?!)

And some dress alterations snap shots....  Beautiful Dress!!!

In October, the big day for Jeny and Mike arrived!  I drove up to Saint Joe, Michigan seperatly from Ross, as I headed up early to get last minute girly stuff done with Jen and the other bridesmaids.   Ross stayed back and got all the DJ equiptment ready for their reception.  As Ross and I are "less than loaded,"  or what some people may call "broke,"  our gift to Jen and Mike was the gift of music!  Ross must have organized thousands upon thousands of songs, headed up to the nature center where their reception was held to set up, and did a phenominal job as MC/DJ.  I was so proud of him, but I may be a teeny weeny bit biased.  After all, he's all mine!
I'm sorry I don't have more pictures, but being that I was in the wedding, it was hard to get tons of snapshots!!  Here are a few from their wonderful wedding weekend!

(She was in NO way a bridezilla, but this was just for fun! haha)

                                                   Rehearsing for the wedding!

                                              Rehearsal Dinner... Yummy!!

November was a HUGE month for Ross and I, as well as our home!  We seem to be continuously doing little improvement projects around our home, but this month, we started the biggest one of all.  We decided that after waiting over a year to dig up the awful and holey carpet (holes done by the previous owner's dog), it was time to get to work, and revamp our living/entertaining area of our home.  Below are pictures of the process, and the journey that it took us on during this month.  Boy, was it more work that we thought, but the results (and the fact that it was work) paid off ten-fold.  It looks amazing, and we really couldn't be much happier with the results.
If Ross was to pick one favorite holiday (and actually this was asked of him), he said he would have to pick Thanksgiving!  The boy loves to cook, and loves to host, so to me, this makes complete sense.  We started a tradition of hosting our family for Thanksgiving last year.  It was the first year in our home

( Pictures to come on our floor renovation project!!!)

December has been crazy (and we know, it's not done yet)!  The first weekend, Mr. Canaan Murphy, my sister Jessie's first babe, had his first birthday party!  My sister is so incredibly creative, and she planned his entire birthday party around a "Where the Wild Things Are" theme.  Canaan even had a little monster costume, although he acted like anything but.  When it came to dive into his cake, it took him quite a while to get past gently touching it.  Jessie and I had to show him how to smoosh it up.  After a while, he began to get the hang of it.  He's such a special little boy... and even took some big steps while we were visiting that weekend.  He has since come much closer to mastering the art of walking, and is all over the place.  Love that little cutie!!  (Or Ross sometimes calls him "The other man"  when I'm there to visit!)

We also had a fun holiday "ugly Christmas sweater" party with our friends in our small group.  We had such a fun night with these friends, full of games, great conversations, and of course, delectable food!

Ross' finals weeks (Yes, they spread out the torture into two wonderful weeks!) are upon us.  Ross has really been working extremely hard, and had been enjoying his law studies - After this semester is over, he will be half way done!  Now, I do have to mention that his last final will be the day before we leave on our honeymoon, and it happens to be an 8 (EIGHT) hour final!  I'll be so happy for him when he is done with the long and difficult semester, and he can finally have a little relaxation!  I'm so proud of him!  He works so very very hard!

Up next.... Our Honeymoon in Mexico!  This Sunday, Ross and I are heading to Playa Del Carmen, for our long anticipated first "real" vacation together as a married couple.  After this long, fun, and at times, exhausting year, we are ready for a little R&R with just the two of us!  Update to come!

This year was jam packed with events.  We traveled, spent time with our families, spend time together over the Summer, Enjoyed our (AMAZING) wedding celebration, we've shared in other's celebrations, made new friends, and have enjoyed our old friends as well, and over all... we've had one heck of a year!

First New Year's Resolution for next year = Update blog more often!  We had such a joyous 2010!  We hope that each and everyone of our family and friends did just the same.  To another year - May it be filled with enough st
